S.1983 A bill to amend the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act to renew and amend the provisions for the enhanced review of covered pesticide products, to authorize fees for certain pesticide products, and to expend and improve the collection of maintenance fees, and for other purposes

 

Initial registration review requires that the Administrator complete the registration review of each pesticide or pesticide case-which may be composed of one or more active ingredients-no later that October 1, 2022 or the date that is 15 years after the date on which the first pesticide containing a new active ingredient is registered. The review will be repeated every 15 years.

 

After meeting with individuals who are not government employees to discuss matter relating the registration review, the Administrator will note in the docket minutes, who attended and what exchanges took place at that meeting no later that 45 days after the meeting. Confidential business information will not be included in the docket minutes.

 

Fees for registration will range from $71,000 for each fiscal year 2008 through 2012 to $123,000.

 

Fees will be deposited in a Fund. Partnership grants may be drawn from the Fund ranging from $500,000 to $750,000. Safety education program activities can also be financed from the Fund.
