Presidential Notice of September 12, 2007- Continuation of the National Emergency with respect to certain terrorist attacks
The president is continuing, for one year, the national emergency he declared on September 14, 2007 (Proclamation 7463) with respect to the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and aboard United Airlines flight 93.
The president extended his 2001 proclamation on September 5, 2006 for one year thereby continuing his powers and authorities under US Code when such a proclamation is made. It is, then, his powers and authorities that this proclamation continues for another year.
The authority for this proclamation and his powers and authorities are defined in 50 US Code 1622(d).
