S 1778 A bill to extend Medicare cost-sharing for qualifying individuals through September 2006, to extend the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program, transitional medical assistance under the Medicaid Program, and related programs through March 31, 2006, and for other purposes.
BRIEF
Until Congress completes and the President signs into law the spending plan for Social Security and related programs, this bill allows for continued spending on some programs already underway including Medicare
$100 million would be available Oct 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005; $300 million for January 2, 2005 through September 30 2006. All Social Security programs will continue through March 31, 2006 including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families as well as the National Random Sample Study of Child Welfare and Child Welfare Waiver Authority.
