H.R.3864 To provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities affected by Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita.

                                                                                         

BRIEF

   The Commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services Administration is directed to give preference to States impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita when re-allocating funds for vocational rehabilitation services.

   The States can use the money to pay for vocational rehabilitation services to include training, mentoring or job shadowing for disabled individuals that contribute to the economic growth and development of communities. The funds can be used to enable disabled individuals to participate in reconstruction or other major disaster assistance in the area in which they resided on August 22, 2005 and / or seven days prior to the President declaring Rita impacted areas as disaster areas.
