HR 3784 to temporarily extend the programs under the Higher Education Act of 1965 and for other purposes.

                                                                                         

BRIEF

  The bill extends for three months programs related to increasing access to higher education for low- and middle-income students. The programs include Pell Grants and other aid.

   The student loan program is also under this bill’s heading as well as a program that provides loan differential subsidies to lenders granting loans at rates much higher than the rate they pay to receive the money from the government.

   The forthcoming bill to reauthorize and revise education spending, HR 609, has yet to be considered by the House.
