H.R.3649 To ensure funding for sport fishing and boating safety programs funded out of the Highway Trust Fund through the end of fiscal year 2005, and for other purposes.

                                                                                         

BRIEF

  The bill would continue some sections of the Act to provide funds for boating safety programs, national outreach regarding sport fishing and boating, the Clean Vessel Act aiming to reduce pollution caused by boats and boaters and the US Coast Guard boating safety and anti-pollution programs.

   Funds would be allocated from fuel and use taxes paid into the highway trust fund.

Cost to the taxpayers: Approximately $5 million to the Coast Guard, $82 million for outreach, and $5 million for safety.
