S.1736 A bill to provide for the participation of employees in the judicial branch in the Federal leave transfer program for disasters and emergencies.

                                                                                         

BRIEF

   Leave transfer is a successful federal program through which federal employees can donate unused leave to a leave bank for use of other employees who have exhausted their leave due to disasters, family illness and the like.

   Unused leave is returned to the bank.  

   This bill provides for employees of the judiciary to participate in the program. 400 Judiciary employees are on administrative leave due to Katrina. The bill is aimed to aid those employees.
