Week Ending November 16, 2007

Presidential notice of November 8, 2007 Continuation of emergency regarding weapons of mass destruction.

The President declared a national emergency in 1994 with respect to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy posed by the proliferation of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons and the means of delivering those weapons.

President Bush issued an Executive Order in 2005 to improve the US ability to combat proliferation. The President concludes that the threat continues and so continues the emergency status.
