S.251 A bill to authorize the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Bureau of Reclamation, to conduct a water resource feasibility study for the Little Butte/Bear Creek Sub-basins in Oregon.

                                                                                         

BRIEF

  The bill fulfills an agreement between the City of Medford, Oregon and the US Bureau of Reclamation for the Water for Irrigation, Streams and Economy Project begun in 2004.

  The bill authorizes a management feasibility study and environmental impact statement in accordance with the agreement.

Vote: Passed Senate by Unanimous Consent November 16, 2005

Cost to the taxpayers: $500,000 for the Federal share of the study. Non-Federal share is to be fifty percent of total cost.
