S.1095 A bill to amend chapter 113 of title 18, United States Code, to clarify the prohibition on the trafficking in goods or services, and for other purposes.
BRIEF
Most goods and some services are protected by copyright and other laws and may include a ‘mark’ identifying that particular right of the manufacturer or patent owner. This bill would clarify imposed penalties for intentionally trafficking in products and services and knowingly using a counterfeit mark. The bill also would apply to international trafficking of the same and would include phono-records of a copyrighted work for the purpose of financial gain.
