H.R.1972 To direct the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a special resource study to determine the suitability and feasibility of including in the National Park System certain sites in Williamson County, Tennessee, relating to the Battle of Franklin.
BRIEF
The bill would authorize a study by the Secretary of Interior to determine if sites in Brentwood, Franklin, Triune, Thompson’s Station and Spring Hill, Tennessee that are supposedly related to the Civil War Battle of Franklin to determine the national significance of the sites and the suitability and feasibility of including the sites in the National Park System, the Congressional Research Service summarized.
The study could continue for three years and would include the input from Federal, State and local governments as well as interested groups and organizations.

Cost to the taxpayers: The bill would authorize such sums as may be necessary. Traditionally, such studies can run from $100,000 to $1 million.
