H.R.1564 To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to convey certain buildings and lands of the Yakima Project, Washington, to the Yakima-Tieton Irrigation District.

BRIEF

The Secretary of Interior is directed to convey to the Yakima-Tieton Irrigation District in Washington State all the rights and titles to buildings and lands of the Yakima Project.

The conveyance would cover nine acres and a number of buildings that were part of a project to build and maintain the Tieton diversion dam and canals. The dam and canals would remain under US jurisdiction.

The irrigation district has been paying small increments to the US to cover operations and maintenance of the land and buildings to be conveyed and those payments would stop with enactment of this bill. The US is held harmless against liability relating to the land and building transfer.
