H.R.1114 To require the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Bureau of Reclamation and the United States Geological Survey, to conduct a study on groundwater resources in the State of Alaska, and for other purposes.

 

The Commissioner of Reclamation and the US Geological Survey team up to conduct a study of accessible water supplies in some areas of Alaska, survey water treatment needs State-wide and review the need for enhancing stream flow relating to flood forecasting, resource extractions and fire management.

 

Aquifer exploration and other water sources will be studied on the Kenai Peninsula and in the City of Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and the city of Fairbanks and the Fairbanks Northstar Borough.

 

The study is due to Congress in two years.
