H.R.1025  To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of implementing a water supply and conservation project to improve water supply reliability, increase the capacity of water storage, and improve water management efficiency in the Republican River Basin between Harlan County Lake in Nebraska and Milford Lake in Kansas.

Kansas and Nebraska would benefit from this authorization to study the feasibility of building a water supply and conservation project to improve supply, storage and management between Harlan County Lake, NE and Milford Lake, KS.

The study would determine the prospects for improving water supply reliability, increase water storage capacity, and improve water management. Other counties affected are Harlan, Franklin, Webster and Nuckolls in Nebraska and Jewel, Republic, Cloud, Washington and Clay in Kansas.

Storage would be increase by modifying existing projects and building new projects. Conservation would lead to better water management options.

The federal share may not exceed 50% and is not reimbursable. The study should take three years but an extension is possible.
