H.R.995 To amend Public Law 106-348 to extend the authorization for establishing a memorial in the District of Columbia or its environs to honor veterans who became disabled while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States
A 2000 bill passed into law by the 106th Congress authorized establishing a service-disabled veterans’ memorial in Washington, D.C.. This bill extends the authority to establish that memorial through October 24, 2015.
Such efforts usually take time to raise funds privately since no Federal funds can be spent on memorials and commemoratives.
