H.R.361 To amend the Lower Rio Grande Valley Water Resources Conservation and Improvement Act of 2000 to authorize additional projects and activities under that Act, and for other purposes.

The Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas will benefit from this bill that adds projects to an earlier bill addressing water concerns in that area.

The new projects include improving water quality and conservation in Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy, Hudspeth and El Paso counties, Texas. More specific projects may include replacing irrigation and lateral canals with buried pipelines to avoid evaporation, lining canals to avoid seepage, the installation of technologies and mechanics to control and measure flow, renovation of pumping plants and other conservation and water-quality improvements.

Specific details of other projects are listed below.

Cost to the taxpayers: $42,356, 145 in 2004 dollars is appropriated.
