H.R.404 To require the establishment of customer service standards for Federal agencies.

 

The Comptroller General is directed to develop with the Director of the Office of Management and Budget performance measures to determine whether Federal agencies are providing high quality customer service and establish standards to be met when providing that service.

 

The agencies will collect information from customers and designate an employee as the one who will implement the standards.

 

The information will be collected through surveys, focus groups and other methods.

 

After inspecting a Federal agency pursuant to subsection (a), the Comptroller General shall annually provide to the agency a report on its customer service performance.

 

Awards for exemplary service can be awarded.
