Funds from a State Department account that are not obligated could be transferred to cover the costs of facilitating the evacuation of persons from Lebanon after July 16, 2006.

Cost to the taxpayers: The bill calls for such sums as may be necessary. The House amended the bill to raise the amount for Diplomatic and Consular Services at the State department to $19 million.
