House Concurrent Resolution 2 providing for adjournment or recess of the two Houses.
BRIEF
Establishes that when the House (with the Senate concurring) adjourns on January 6, 2005 it will remain adjourned until January 20, 2005 and when it adjourns on January 20, 2005 it does so until 2 p.m. on January 25, 2005.
The Resolution would set the same schedule for the Senate with the exception that the Senate would not adjourn on January 20th until January 25th
Section 2 of the Resolution puts forth that the provision that the Speaker of the House and Majority Leader of the Senate, after consulting with Minority leaders in both bodies can direct Congress to meet somewhere other than Capitol Hill if it is in the public interest.
