S.197 A bill to authorize salary adjustments for justices and judges of the United States for fiscal year 2007.
Supreme Court Justices and all Federal judges would receive a pay hike under this bill. Congress must pass a pay raise for the Judiciary as it does for itself, however, recent salary increases for Members came as part of an automatic increase passed some years back. The judges and justices were not included.
Justices earn $203,000 yearly and the Chief Justice earns $212,000. District judges earn $165,200, the same as Members of Congress. Federal Appeal Court judges earn $175,100.
