H.R.161 To adjust the boundary of the Minidoka Internment National Monument to include the Nidoto Nai Yoni Memorial in Bainbridge Island, Washington, and for other purposes.
The boundary of the Minidoka Internment National Monument in Idaho is expanded to include the Nidoto Nai Yoni (‘Let it not happen again’) memorial in Bainbridge, Washington.
The memorials commemorate the Japanese Americans of Bainbridge, Washington who were first to be removed from their homes and relocated to internment camps during WWII. The bill also authorizes the Secretary of Interior to maintain a visitor center for the sites in Seattle, Washington. The Center would be in conjunction with the Seattle unit of the Klondike Gold Rush national Historical Park.
