H.R.6429 To treat payments by charitable organizations with respect to certain firefighters as exempt payments.

 

Payments made by a charitable foundation to any family member of a firefighter who died in the October 2006 Esperanza Incident fire in Southern California is exempt from taxes. The law applies to payments made from October 26, 2006 through May 31, 2007.

Vote:  Passed House by voice vote and Senate by Unanimous Consent December 9, 2006
