H.R.5466 To amend the National Trails System Act to designate the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail.
Four hundred years later the voyages of Captain Jon Smith would be included in the National Trail System if this bill is enacted. The trails include 3,000 miles around the Chesapeake Bay and includes the States of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the District of Columbia.
The Secretary of Interior would administrate the trails while coordinating with organization that cater to such things such as State and local governments and the Chesapeake Bay gateways and Watertrails Network.
