H.R.4311 To amend section 105(b)(3) of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App).
BRIEF
The bill would amend the 1978 government ethics law regarding procedures that can be taken to assure an individual is in compliance with laws and regulations if a ruling that the individual is not in compliance with financial disclosure rules.
Requesting a transfer, reassignment, limitation of duties or resignation are eliminated as an appropriate response.
Divestiture or holdings, restitution of funds, establishment of a blind trust and a request for exemption from specific criminal penalties due to conflicting personal financial interests are retained as responses.
