H.CON.RES.196 Honoring the pilots of United States commercial air carriers who volunteer to participate in the Federal flight deck officer program.

                                                                                         

BRIEF

   The Resolution honors commercial pilots who participate in the federal flight deck volunteer program, a program that provides training and direction to help prepare for and thwart terrorism in airplanes by using firearms. A pilot or crew member may be the designated flight deck officer and if both pilots are armed, the captain will decide which will defend the plane and which will fly it.
