House Concurrent Resolution 376 Authorizing the use of the Capitol Grounds for the Greater Washington Soap Box Derby.

 

BRIEF

House Concurrent Resolution 376 authorizes the Greater Washington Soap Box Derby Association to sponsor soap box derby races on the Capitol Grounds on June 19, 2004, or on such other date as the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate may jointly designate. Winner of this 55 year old tradition will go on to the national races in Ohio each year.

  The event must be free of admission charge to the public and arranged not to interfere with the needs of Congress as prescribed by the Architect of the Capitol and the Capitol Police Board. The Association shall assume full responsibility for all expenses and liabilities incident to all activities associated with the event.

 

Vote: Passed Senate by Unanimous Consent.
