BILL AIMS TO END BILLIONS DEFRAUDED FROM TAXPAYERS IN OVERSEAS OPERATIONS

 

Citing $8.8 billion unaccounted for in Iraq and Afghanistan, the bill would apply legal oversight where, technically, there is none.

LOW INCOME HOUSING PROGRAM TO BE IMPROVED THROUGH TRUST FUND

 

The Affordable Housing Trust Fund aims to build 1.5 million dwellings for very low-income Americans through grants to States.

RESOLUTION DENOUNCES VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMEN, INCLUDING IN THE US

 

The bill denounces the extreme violence suffered by women worldwide and notes that the US has not signed on to the UN effort to define and curtail the problem.

The Senate was not in session this week. the House was scheduled to conduct business through Thursday but shortened the schedule so that Members can attend the funeral of Virginia Congresswoman Jo-Ann Davis on Thursday. The house did, however, complete all of its legislative business with the exception of HR 2095, a bill to prevent railroad injuries and hazards. HR 2095 will be considered during the week ending October 19th
