H.R.609 To amend the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and Facilities Act to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to participate in the Central Texas Water Recycling and Reuse Project, and for other purposes.

 

The Secretary of Interior is authorized to participate in up to 25% of the cost of design, planning and construction of permanent facilities for reclaiming and reusing water in McLennan County, Texas.

 

A 102nd Congress law is modified to authorize the Department of Interior, in cooperation with Waco, TX and other communities in the Central Texas Recycling and Reuse Project to design, plan and build permanent facilities for the water processing.

 

Funds may not be used for operation and maintenance and the federal share is not to exceed 25% of total cost. The Secretary must act on the authority within ten years or the authority will sunset.
