HR 482 to provide for a land exchange involving Federal lands in the Lincoln National Forest in the State of New Mexico and for other purposes.

 

BRIEF

    The land swap is between Lubbock Christian University (LCU) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

    80 acres of Federal land within Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico will be swapped for 80 acres of nearby land owned by LCU. The parcels are considered to be equal in value. Mineral and other subsurface rights remain with the Federal government.

Cost to the taxpayers: Cost of the transfer is to be shared equally. The bill offers no dollar amounts but usually such costs are for surveys and the like and run around $100,000.
